3 cord and 4 cord truss trade show display kits

What is the Difference between 3 cord and 4 cord Truss Display Systems

A truss has two elements – the longitudinal member of chord, and the cross member or web. The combination of chords and webs provides load bearing capability over long free spans and enables Versatruss to provide a reliable foundation for displays while maintaining a visually appealing sense of openness.

The main difference between 3 cord and 4 cord truss display systems is strength. With this said, 90 percent of truss trade show booths use the 3 cord or “Tri” configuration. The 3 cord can withstand most applications with ease. The four cord application is only used when exceptionally heavy equipment or heavy overhead displays are used.

The 3 cord will easily handle the weight of lighting, graphics and flat panel monitors along with shelving etc.

Below you can see the configuration of the 3 cord or “Tri” Truss configuration. It consists of 3 main 2 inch diameter cords with webbing held in place by precision welding.  As you can see the modular structure is extremely strong and durable.

Below you can see the 4 cord or “Box” configuration. This style of truss consists of 4 main 2 inch cords with webbing held in place by precision welding. This style of truss is only required when extremely heavy equipment or heavy overhead displays are added to the booth for example a boat.

For weight considerations, you can review the load bearing chart below. This chart is based on the 3 cord truss system. Add 30 percent more weight capacity for 4 cord truss systems. As you can see the 3 cord system can withstand a great deal of weight and will meet 90 percent of applications.
